Plymouth Half Marathon 2015 · 19 April 2015 ·
In March 2013 my father passed away at the Sue Ryder hospice at Leckhampton Court, Gloucestershire.
It's not possible to write a few succinct words about that time, or the gap that's still left where my father should be. However, in that dark time, I gained huge sense of peace in seeing the amazing care Dad received at the hospice 'til the end.
Those of you who know me will appreciate that running is not a natural state for me (walking is in itself enough of a challenge) and so the Plymouth Half Marathon will test my bumbling form far more than you might expect.
Running in Plymouth will be special as it will be a return to the place I gained my physio degree (and my wife) but also because of the support my Dad (and Mum) gave me to go there to follow my dreams.
I can't wait to run Plymouth Half Marathon for such a worthy cause and, in my own bumbling way, for Dad.
