On Tuesday June 30th myself and seven other hardy souls from the Construction Industry have agreed to take part in the daunting challenge of playing four rounds of golf in 24 hours to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This gruelling event will start at Matfen Hall Golf Club at 5.00am and will finish at roughly 10.30pm later that day after approximately 24 miles of zig zagging the rough and 500 golf swings, if I’m lucky. To put this effort into perspective I have not played four rounds of golf in the last four years so it’s fair to say this is not going to be jolly day out!

We have all, at some point. been affected by someone close to us who has suffered from Cancer, whether it is a family member, friend or colleague. I personally lost my Mother, at a very young age, to this cruel disease and I have also witnessed the heartache of my best friend losing his partner at an even younger age.

 My aim is to raise a minimum of £500 from the day and if you can spare any donation whatsoever it will be greatly appreciated by all the team carrying out the challenge, but more importantly by the Macmillan Cancer Support team that carry out such great work supporting people and their families suffering from Cancer.
