Fundraising for Stroke Association
In 2021, we lost our loving Dad to a stroke at the age of 67. Dad (or Bernie to most) was just starting to enjoy retirement by looking after his grandchildren, tending his garden and learning the guitar. He loved family, music, enjoying a pint with his mates on a Saturday and of course, his beloved Sunderland football club.
We couldn't have asked for a better Dad, and not a day goes by where I wish there was something that could have been done to make sure he was still with us today.
But of course, we're not the only people who've been affected by the devastation caused by stroke. The Stroke Association provide specialist support, funding critical research and campaigns to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.
Dad passed away a few days after his stroke, but it's reassuring to know that there are charities like the Stroke Association who would have been there to help and who continue to provide assistance to those affected.
He probably wouldn't want any fuss, but it's a good excuse to get off my arse and do something in Dad's memory. Please give to a great cause x
