Story
About 2 years ago I decided to get fitter, give myself a challenge and do a long distance walk in the Highlands, one of my favourite places. The Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness seemed the best walk for me and I began preparations by doing walks around my home at Ramsey in the Fens. Unfortunately around here there are no hills around Ramsey to train on! This walk was originally planned for September 2020 - that was cancelled because of the pandemic. It was rescheduled for April this year - again cancelled. Now, it will, I hope, be third time lucky! Much more recently I thought it would be a good idea to walk not just for my own good, but also for a charity. I therefore decided to walk for Crisis at Christmas and help their important year-round work for homeless people. This is a charity which I have supported in the past. The walk is about 77 miles long - 77 is also my age. Your donations to this cause will be greatly appreciated and will give me the incentive to complete the walk. Thank you very much.
