Story
Thank you for taking the time to listen to our story. Our sister Edel was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer, over eight years ago. This cancer is incurable but treatable, and with the help of the Irish Cancer Society, Edel is living the best life she can.
In 2018 four of Edel's brothers ran the Dublin marathon and raised nearly 20,000 Euro for cancer research, which brings a total over 40,000 Euro to date by the Quinn family running marathons. This year all nine siblings (including Edel herself, in a wheelchair) will participate in the Dublin Marathon. The aim, this year, will be to raise vital funds for ongoing research into this awful disease which has touched all our lives in some way or another.
There are some 9,000 deaths each year in Ireland to cancer, a disease where research is very poorly funded and needs our support.
We want to help raise vital funds for The Irish Cancer Society, to provide free services and support to ensure nobody in Ireland has to face cancer alone. Only thanks to the generosity of the Irish public, family, and friends can ongoing treatment and research be achieved. Any assistance, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
