RESULTS: 20 hours 47 minutes for what turned out to be 67 miles (19h31m at 100km point).  Came in 10th out of the thousand or so who started - despite being manifestly the oldest there. I am overwhelmed by your quite stunning generosity, thank you.

65 miles will be the longest run since my military parachuting came to an abrupt halt ten years ago, assuming the consequent 4 plates and 24 screws still hold me together - I shall certainly be well aware of them - and with 70 on the horizon next year I'd better just get on with it.  (I shan't be telling my Surgeon.) BHF is an excellent charity, heart disease is still the biggest killer, and this fairly challenging cross country day and night route across N & S Downs provides a timely excuse.
