Stix was our friend, our leader, our pillar of truth and justice, chief organiser, peacemaker, higher authority on which we grew to depend. His loss was severely felt by so many people.
It is our pleasure with a group of his friends, to put ourselves to the ultimate test of becoming a MAMILs ( middle aged man in Lycra) for 400 miles of gruesome hurt and pain on a bicycle (I have not riden a bike for any distance since my early twenties...) to honour the man and the people from LIVES who were there to offer the initial support to our friend. LIVES is such a worthwhile and commendable Charity who go where mere mortals fear to tread.
Our route for the Mammoth 400 mile ride is aimed to honour the man 'Stix' and travel from his birthplace of Truro in Cornwall, to his final resting placed in Heckington, Lincolnshire over 4 days between 2nd to 5th May 2019.
Please support our worthwhile Charity and I hope you can join us on Sunday 5th May 2019 at the Sleaford Golf Club at the end of our ride to celebrate in style the life of our friend and make the final push to our communal target of £10,000 for LIVES! Thank you.....
LIVES is a unique charity in the UK dedicated to supporting 700+ volunteers who give up their spare time to save lives across the county. Our First Responders helped over 20,000 people across Lincolnshire in 2017, and we estimate 1 in 5 people in Lincolnshire have been helped by LIVES in the lat 15 years. Our responders’ actions literally save lives, delivering that vital immediate care in those critical first moments before handing over to the ambulance service.
