Story
My friend Iain liked a tough race and an independent challenge so I’m doing one of each to raise money in his memory.
Iain had entered the Lakeland 100 race so I’ve taken his place, 100 miles around the paths of the Lake District at the end of July.
I’m also running the Pennine Way but solo and unsupported at some point this year. I can’t say when because it’s solo and unsupported but I can share when I’m near the end and when I’ve finished. This is 268 miles long starting at Kirk Yetholm and running to Edale none stop and completely under my own steam, carrying everything I need (including food and shelter) and only sourcing water from natural sources. No shops. No help. No contact in person- the rules on solo unsupported are tough.
Thanks for donating - Iain was a great man and these causes improve the lives and outcomes for people in ways I know he would approve of.
There’s a separate page each for two charities - Sustrans (who invest in creating useable infrastructure that encourages safe cycling on the roads, more needed than ever before) and Heart Research UK. Please consider donating to both if you can. And if you can’t then a share would be appreciated - many thanks.
