Story
Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may be aware, my brother Pat sadly passed away at the age of 47 last year, 12 months after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. This is a very aggressive form of blood cancer which is extremely difficult to treat.
Pat lived life to the full, had many hobbies including Hi-Fi, photography, travelling, socialising with friends, going to parties, etc...He never took life too seriously and was always having fun and cracking jokes with his dry sense of humour. Being a Chartered Engineer with a First Class Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering, it goes without saying that Pat had a natural aptitude for building things and had the most outstanding Hi-Fi system, some of which was self-constructed and intricately designed to enhance the sound quality.
The most important person in Pat's life was his wife, Jelena, and they set up home in Malmo in 2008. They were devoted to each other. Pat loved Sweden, and built a close network of friends there, starting a "meet up" group for fellow ex-pats. He also kept in touch with many friends he met during his travels. He loved watching Manchester United in his favourite pub "Sir Toby's" with friends and a pint or two.
We were all devastated when Pat passed away so I would like to do this run in memory of Pat and to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Thank you once again for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, this is very much appreciated.
