Story
The wild flora of Upper Teesdale is very special. There is an unusually large number of rare plants growing there, including a unique mixture of arctic-alpine species and species with a more southern distribution. Most of the rare species have been declining in recent decades. Wild plant conservation in general is under-resourced. Margaret's project involves mapping where the plants grow in detail which will help us target conservation effort effectively and investigating the best methods of conserving the flora for the future.
