Story
I am organising a cycle ride to raise funds for a charity that are currently helping a friend of mine, whose daughter is seriously ill.
Lissencephaly is a rare gene linked brain malformation which is characterized by the absence of normal folds in the cerebral cortex. It is a life limiting and ultimately fatal condition. My friends daughter Anona Bowen is sadly suffering from this condition and is receiving care and support from Hope House charity.
Hope House children's hospices aim is ensure that no family has to face the prospect of caring for a terminally ill child alone. They provide support for over 750 local families who are caring for terminally ill children or whose child has passed away.
It costs £6.5m a year to provide these services with 86% spent on care, much of this provided by public support. Another £2.5m is required to make sure that every family can benefit from this invaluable support.
I wanted to do as much as I can to help Hope House continue this invaluable help and support to my friends and many other families. Any donations that you can make will help Hope House continue their work and make the lives of the children and their families a little better.
