Story

What a year, we  will all be glad to see  the back of 2020.  So what better way to start a new year than with a new challenge.  I'm going to run 100km in a single day during January.

The 2021 Hannah Hundred  is in aid of the Zest service at St Elizabeths Hospital in Ipswich. Zest supports young adults age 14 and upwards with progressive and incurable illnesses to ensure they can get the specialist care, tailored treatment and services they need to be able to enjoy life to the full. Support isnt limited to the young adults themselves. The Zest service it is an overarching  provision for parents, carers and all the family. It is without doubt a lifeline.

The magic number is 100.  I will be running 100km in a single day in January.  It would be great if you sponsored me but better still I'd like to challenge you to "virtually" join me!  Can you run, walk or cycle 100km in a day , a week ,or a month  over the duration of January? Start slow and scale it up, share it or slog it out, the effort is up to you. The event is free to enter, our only ask is that you aim to raise a minimum of £100 for  100km of efforts.

This year  theres no excuse so come January dust off those trainers and tackle your very  own 100k in your very  own way. Indoors, outdoors, all day all week all month, you decide.  So why not sign up and kick start 2021 with some fun, fitness and fundraising  and better still nominate a friend to take the challenge with you.

The Hannah 100 was set up in honour of Hannah an 18 year old girl from Ipswich. Hannah has had  quadriplegic cerebral palsy since birth and requires dedicated daily care for the simple activities the rest of us take for granted. She has been fortunate enough to benefit from the amazing care provided by Zest at St Elizabeths Hospice. If you are lucky enough to ever meet Hannah you will be immediately captivated by her warm smile, and  infectious giggles. She enjoys music, movies and disco lights. Hannah has always benefited from great care and in-spite  of being tube fed and confined to wheelchair she leads a full life going on  country walks, horse riding , sailing and cycling. Zest helps young adults like Hannah to be the best that they can be while also ensuring she gets the best of care and her family and carers  get the support they need. If Hannah could speak she would be telling you to get up off that  couch, accept the challenge  and sweat out the 100km for her and all her friends at  Zest.
