Story
On June 1st we are launching a campaign to get our supporters to collectively race against the clock all the way to Africa! Together we will race 20,000km and raise £20,000 to support the addition of COVID-19 into our programmes in Africa.
This is a charity that I am passionate about, it makes a real difference to the lives of thousands of young people and does so through a fantastic African and UK team, that puts into practice real and tangible people-orientated values.
I am taking part by setting myself a three part monthly challenge - 100km by foot in June - 100km by bike in July - 1000m climb in August. The 100x100x100*10 challenge refers to the length of my involvement in TackleAfrica - 10 years in September 2020.
The clock started at 12noon on June 1st and then the race is on to finish it before the end of August. 20,000km over 90 days. That is 220km per day. 9km per hour! The route takes us from London then through France and Spain, across the Mediterranean to Morocco and then on through the 12 countries we work in in Africa all the way down to the finish line in Durban
