Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My story begins wanting to look my best for my nieces’ wedding which was followed by my Nephews’ wedding six months later in Ireland, where I knew there would be a lot of jigging (Dancing) taking place. I failed at the first and failed at the second, and during my nephews wedding reception I felt a pain in my chest while dancing with my sister. That’s it I said I have to lose weight, with no thought of getting fitter.

With everything tried without success and remembering the work life balance day arranged by my work and attended by Bannatynes Health Club I bit the bullet and joined up in September 2011 giving myself a year to make a difference. So Jen and Danielle you succeeded in June 2011.

After messing around on the large variety of equipment, I needed assistance and arranged a personal training session, this was handed to Robert with the task of assessment and putting me to rights. Robert the ever professional put it very kindly that I was over weight. The assessment recorded my weight at 101.7Kgs, my BMI as morbidly obese, height as 1.72 meters.

Five short months later (including Christmas and new year I have lost 8 Kgs and now I'm only obese, this has resulted in me feeling fitter, breathing easier, losing the back pain, knees don’t creak any more, at peace with the world.

After seven months I can run and catch my Grandson aged seven, and now take him swimming, another activity I enjoy but had given up. I enjoy the regular classes of Spin (cycling) lead by Robert and Zumba (not just for Girls) hosted by Clare.
