Thank you for visiting my page. I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, the only cancer charity in the UK focused on all types of sarcoma.
My wife has lived with Sarcoma since 2012 when she was diagnosed at 29. Emma had a 7.7lb tumour in her right thigh and had major surgery to remove it followed by 30 sessions of radiotherapy.
12 months later we were heartbroken to discover that the cancer had spread to both lungs. 6 months of chemo and two surgeries followed. Emma had a further setback in 2015 when another tumour appeared in her right lung - this was removed and she has now been clear for over three years.
Cancer is an awful diagnosis and our lives have been turned upside down. It’s not all bad, there’s definitely been some good times too but Sarcoma changed our lives and will be part of our life forever.
A year before Emma was diagnosed, her friend Johanne sadly passed away from sarcoma. In the last three years two of Emma’s ex colleagues and her friends mum have all been diagnosed with Sarcoma. A cure is needed but also awareness of this rare disease.
Sarcoma is rare and aggressive and represents just 1% of cancer diagnoses. Please read below for more information on Sarcoma.
Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is one of the hardest to diagnose, and difficult to treat. Sarcoma UK can help change this. By donating to my page, you will fund vital research projects looking for better treatments. Your donation will also raise awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma to help patients get an early diagnosis, and ensure everyone has access to specialist advice.Thank you for your support.
