Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This ‘clever idea’ began with the promise of a good night out in Newcastle – a noble cause if any. Before long, the plan had escalated to the point where my foolish pride had me agreeing to take on Mo Farah in The Great North Run. Yes, that Mo Farah.
Call it exaggeration, but the dual Olympic gold medallist will be lining up alongside me in Newcastle on the 16 of September with a common aim of completing the biggest half-marathon in the world. I do have to admit, Mo and I might have different finishing times at the end.
When I floated the idea past close friends they were “super” supportive – one suggested my new found love of long distance running was a mere attempt to hear heavy breathing again... (You know who you are!)
Despite this support I’m committed to the task and eager to raise as much money as possible for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. 1 in 20 people are carriers of the gene in the UK and Ireland. When two carriers parent a child together, there’s a 1 in 4 chance the baby will be born with CF.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust helps funds research to find an effective cure through gene therapy as well as a pharmacological approach for treating CF.
I know times are tough, but I’d be extremely grateful for any donations you’d feel you can make, no matter how big or small.
Your details are safe with JustGiving – they never sell them on or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send the money directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation. It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now!
