36 years a soldier and another 10 working for the MOD and I never really had a clue what the RBL did. 3 years ago I became the Chairman of the CBOC Branch in Nottinghamshire and soon learnt what an incredible organisation the RBL is and what a fantastic service it provides for those who are serving, have served, their dependants and families.

The RBL spends about £1.4M each week on Welfare alone and I am determined that our Branch will do whatever it can to help raise the money necessary to help. Im even willing to walk the 190 miles of the Coast to Coast to raise funds and I ask you all to help me. Unfortunately because of time constraints I am only able to do half this year, but will finish it off next year. To prove my commitment I am doing the harder half first.

I move off from Saint Bees with Mike Reynolds (Ex RE) on 18 Sep 2012 and expect to cover between 10 and 14 miles on each of the 8 days. We have a few disadvantages (anno domini, fallen arches, too much of the good life etc) but Im sure that we will make it. You can follow us on our Blog which we will start as soon as we have found out how it works! (A bit of a Ludite - another weakness).
