In loving memory of John Loveluck

When my father John Loveluck suffered a heart attack while walking in the Lake District on New Year's Day, it was the Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team who carried him down. Twelve members of their volunteer team battled challenging conditions to bring him back to us. As night fell, they were still on hand to comfort my mother while she identified his body.
The Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team is self-funded, and the volunteers do this work unpaid. They are on call 24/7 in Britain’s busiest mountain areas, helping walkers in distress, leading missing persons searches, and frequently saving lives. They love the mountains, and they make the mountains a safer place.
They do all this amid a cost of living crisis, as the price of fuel and equipment is rising. Please consider a donation to them in my Father’s name. They are heroes.
