John's Dad (John Snr) was diagnosed with lung cancer in the summer of 2011 and was admitted to Bart's for surgery to remove part of his lung. The care he received, from all of the staff there, was amazing and the surgery proved 100% successful with all of the cancer being removed and no further treatment requiired. Thanks to Bart's, and his own determination to beat the illness, he is entirely back to normal now and ensures that he gets out, every day, for an invigorating walk !
