Story
I started running last January (2014) to combat the worst period of depression I have ever had. A few things caused this but the sudden suicide of one of my best friends was a big contributing factor. That made me reassess the support that charities like MIND offer and made me focus on trying to promote them whenever they could. Whilst I still don't know why my friend took her life, I do know that for a massive amount of people, the ability to talk about depression, to talk to others in similar circumstances or to talk to people who understand it's not just a 'phase you are going through' has saved countless lives.
I normally don't run to raise money. My running keeps me sane and has enabled me to find a release that has probably saved my life. But, on this one occasion I'll make an exception. Quite honestly, I don't mind whether you donate to my page or not. What I would ask is that you take five minutes out of your day to look at the amazing things that MIND do, or to take five minutes to ask someone if they are ok. That to me is just as valuable.
Thanks for reading! Take Five Minutes!!
