This year both John & I will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon (22nd May) & the GNR (18th Sept) and for both events we will be raising money for Candlelighters, a charity very close to our hearts.

In 1999 our daughter (then aged 7) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, and all the way through her intensive treatment Candlelighters were always there giving their love and support to both John, myself and our other three daughters.  We spent numerous months in and out of St James's Hospital, and we can't thank the doctors and nurses enought for their kindness.

Although Suzanne is now a healthy 18 year old and she has been given the 'All Clear' she will never be cured of this illness and will have to attend St James's for yearly check-ups for the rest of her life.

Suzanne is at present in the middle of her 'A' level studies and her wishes are to persue a career in Child Nursing.
