Story
The Childhood Tumour Trust is such a valuable resource to our family. They support families like ours who are affected by NF1, bringing people together, getting involved in research and raising awareness to name a few things. Tilly was diagnosed with NF1 at only 18 months. Over the years her condition changes and we’ve lost count of the many hospital visits she has each year. The CTT funds many projects and we’ve been lucky enough to benefit from a number of days out and online sessions. Tillys favourite being the annual trip to Alton Towers where she declared it’s worth having nf1 to be treated like a VIP.
Patches the giraffe is the mascot for CTT, designed by and chosen by the group. Patches even has his very own book and many of the children have their very own Patches with his ‘special marks’ just like them. It’s now time for patches to take on his greatest challenge, the Great North Run. Thanks to the North East Law Centre we have a place to run and they have allowed us to raise money for both amazing charities and raise much needed awareness, if you prefer to donate to the NELC here - https://greatnorthrun.enthuse.com/pf/john-harrison-gnr but since your here why not do both?
Rich and Neil are kindly helping me along the way being Patches' zoo keepers. Rich and I have ran many a half marathon so these stupid outfits, we think, make a challenge worth some sponsorship.
Thanks very much
John, Rich and Neil
