Story
What I'm doing... It's a long time since I did any proper running, but I'm going to do the fell run section of the Dyffryn Conwy Mountain Challenge - see http://www.map17events.org.uk
...and why. I'm raising money for Snowdonia Society's practical work taking care of our National Park. Your donation will go towards clearing up more litter, fixing more metres of footpath, looking after more habitats for wildlife, and protecting Snowdonia.
How you can help. Please give me a boost as this is going to hurt - make a donation to strengthen my resolve, if not my leg muscles! The picture of a much fitter me was taken a few years ago!
About the 'dream team'. I'm doing this as part of a team - Andy Tickle (Snowdonia Society member and Director of Friends of the Peak District) has agreed to do the kayak section.
My lack of fitness and Andy's recuperation from an injury mean we won't be in the running for any prizes, but we will do our best to get round the 3 stages of this gruelling challenge.
After a search we were delighted when Anna Williams volunteered to do the mountain bike stage. So we were all set, until Anna fell off her mountain bike. Nothing broken thank goodness, but serious enough to stop her competing.
Thankfully another great volunteer - Alice Jewer has come forward bravely and at short notice to take her place in the team.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising page - please make a donation - of any size - and leave a message of encouragement.
