Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As I approach my next birthday I've been asked by family and friends what I would like to do to celebrate getting this far unscathed and in very good health. Well crazy as it may seem I have decided to do the 100KM walk to raise money for people who are not as lucky as me - the ex-servicemen helped by St Dunstan's.
For almost a century, St Dunstan’s has been giving invaluable physical and emotional support to blind and visually impaired ex-Service people. When men and women who have served their country lose their sight, we’re there, helping them overcome the challenges they face to discover life beyond blindness. Today, demand for our services is greater than ever as we help over 5,000 beneficiaries including those injured in the current conflict in Afghanistan.
It's a worthy cause and as someone who served 11 years in the Army I can relate to what's happened to these servicemen and women.
