Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a result of the generosity of Buxton, I am able to run in the 2023 London Marathon, to raise money and awareness for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
I was lucky enough to spend the majority of my career to date in education, teaching at a Secondary School in North West Kent. I was privileged to work with thousands of children, whether in the classroom, the Sports field or the many extra-curricular activities.
In addition to teaching Psychology, I also coached Rugby throughout my teaching career. I was fortunate to spend my first three years with the same team and watched them develop throughout their most formative years. They were a wonderful group of young men, they were collectively brilliant sportsmen, characterised by respect, mutual support and togetherness. They were a joy to work with.
It broke my heart, when I learned that two young men from that same team, have lost their lives to suicide in recent years.
It is true of both of these men, that they were joyful, talented and deservedly popular among their peers.
I want to honour their memories, by raising money and awareness for Mental Health for young men. I have chosen to run for Mind, in order to support their campaign to make sure every child or young person gets the mental health care they deserve.
