Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Two and a half years ago I was fortunate enough to step in at the last minute to take on the challenge of running the 2020 London Marathon in support of The Hospice of The Good Shepherd. Unfortunately, as with may other events, the Marathon due to be run in April was first postponed, then delayed and eventually cancelled . However I was able to complete the "virtual" London Marathon in October that year running 3 stages round Chester & sneaking over the border (shh!) with friends to complete the 26.2 mile distance.
Unfortunately my Marathon place was not rolled over to October 2021, so I've had to keep going and now fast approaching 50 thats starting to get a little harder!
Please help me to help raise £700 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd a charity based in Backford, Chester within the heart of our community.
The money raised will help care for patients & their families from our local community of Chester, West Cheshire, Deeside & surrounding areas who are suffering from a life limiting illness when they need it most.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd don’t just care for people in their final days, almost half of their In-Patients come to the Hospice for expert pain relief or symptom control & then return home. The Hospices’ Living Well Centre supports patients with a wide range of services to help them stay at home as long as possible & support is given to both adults & children through bereavement counselling.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd put their patients and their families at the very heart of everything they do to enable them to live life to the full and live well for as long as possible and have the best quality of life.
The money raised helps the Hospice to…
£5 pays for a memory book for a child to use in order to remember a special person
£15 will provide meals for an in-patient for one day
£25 will pay for aromatherapy oils for patients for 1 week
£50 will pay for a physiotherapy session
£100 heats the hospice for 1 day
£300 pays for 6 child bereavement counselling session
£1,000 pays for a child bereavement group session
£4,100 runs 1 in-patient bed for 1 week
Thanks a lot for your help & support - John Fielding
