Our beloved dad passed away in Birmingham on 1st April aged 87. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in his mid 70s and over the past few years his symptoms had got progressively worse and he relied on mum and Rosalind as well as his carers for basic daily self care.
Parkinson's is an incurable disease that affects all aspects of a person's life. Dad found it hard to speak, could not write or even hold a phone or tablet. Towards the end he lost the ability to swallow.
As a family, we decided not to remember Dad with flowers. He wasn't much of a flowers person. So we're asking anyone who wants to remember him to make a donation to Parkinson's UK and the important research they are funding to find a cure for this debilitating and life changing disease.
Thank you.
