Story
Merthyr West End bowlers doing their bit......
Our story.
Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page for the Merthyr West End Bowls club 12 hour walk/ run 1000 lap challenge.
On the 3rd May 2020, 12 club members will be taking part in a 12 hour walk / 1000 lap challenge of the bowls club green. The 12 hours represents the current shifts NHS staff and other key workers are doing to fight this pandemic.
Obviously the main aim of this event is to raise funds for our local NHS Trust and to say thank you, in a small way, for all they do for us. Many at the club know of people who have been blighted by this disease.
Indeed the club was relieved to hear this week that social member Jeff Cope has been released from ITU and is now recovering on a ward in PCH ! Get well soon Jeff and see you at the next club pro/am!
We will be conducting this event in a socially responsible way, ensuring that we comply with the current public health rules. Each participant will walk/run around the green individually for a strict one hour slot. The next participant will begin five minutes later to ensure the previous person has exited the premises. This will represent each participants daily exercise for the 3rd May 2020.
Thanks in advance for all your donations to this great cause.
Stay well & stay safe
From all at MWE BC
