Story
At the beginning of the year, I decided I needed a big challenge to help me get my health and wellbeing back on track. I decided to sign up to do the Outlaw Half Nottingham 2022. Its 70.3 miles comprised of a 1.2 mile (1.9km) swim, 56 mile (90km) cycle, and 13.1 mile (21.1km) run. I've been training hard and my fitness has improved a lot, but its going to be a hard slog! As a friend of mine said, "I'm sure you'll finish it, but it won't be pretty!"
To help with motivate me round the course, and also so that my efforts can be helpful to a cause, I'm raising money for Alzheimers Research UK. They are the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Their vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. Backed by their passionate scientists and supporters, they're challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.
I'm proud to be able to support these efforts in some small way.
We started off with a £350 target, which we smashed! We stretched that to £500, which we also smashed! So now we're going for £700 which is double the original goal! Let's do it!!
