Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

So I've set myself the challenge of running the 2012 London marathon and raising as much money for a great cause whilst doing so.

If you've made it to this page then thanks for thinking about supporting Aspire and my run.  If you end up dipping into your pocket then it'll go to a great cause and will help me round the course.

If you haven't heard of them before, Aspire do phenomenal work helping those who have suffered spinal injuries.  Needless to say, the difference they can make is incredible.  It is also expensive.  If you want to find out more information about what they do then have a look at their website http://www.aspire.org.uk/.

Most of you know I've got no background in distance running (other than runing the Henley half in October 2011 as a bit of a sighter).  This is all a bit of an unknown but I'm equal parts excited and daunted at the prospect of sweating my way across London in the spring.  If you want to come on any training runs with me then I'd love the company.  Equally, if you want to lend me a hand with a playlist to run to (although Born to Run will be played enough in the training) then that'd be much appreciated.
