<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Courier New";"><span style="font-size: small;">Just before Christmas, I met a neighbour who told me he was running the London Marathon in order to raise money for the children’s hospice, Shooting Star, based locally in Hampton, Middlesex.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Sadly, his five year old son was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy a year ago, and the hospice has been providing support and advice to him and his family. Shooting Star is funded entirely by charitable contributions.</span></span></em></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Courier New";"><span style="font-size: small;">I had two lovely uncles who suffered from, and eventually died, from Muscular Dystrophy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I therefore appreciate the time and energy needed to care for, and support, a loved one with this condition.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></em></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Courier New";"><br /><span style="font-size: small;">Therefore, I have decided to join my neighbour’s efforts in raising money for Shooting Star by running this year’s London Marathon too.</span></span></em></p>
