Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you that haven't met me before, I am the Weighted Walker and, as the name suggests, I undertake challenge walks with a weighted vest to add to the madness!
Last year I undertook the Thames Path Challenge but had to pull out at the end of the first quarter due to a family emergency. This year, I aim to settle the score - 100km from Putney to Henley starting early Saturday morning and walking through the day and night until I reach the finish line.
I am raising funds for Kingston Hospital for a huge number of reasons - They have looked after me through a variety of health conditions, from operations as a child through to management of my current long term illness. They have looked after my parents, my siblings and most recently my son, who was born in their maternity wing.
As a lot of the support they have given myself and my family over the years has been in paediatrics, I am delighted to say that the funds I raise will be put towards maintaining and improving the play facilities for the young people that are in patients at the hospital.
