Neil - A good friend of mine from my Loughborough Uni days asked me to join him and a few others and cycle from Mizen to Malin, which is the Lands End to John O' Groats of Ireland. Neil's wife Gill is the chair of the Jumbulance Trust. There will be 6 of us cycling in total and a support vehicle of 3 including my wife Sally. I like a challenge so could not say no, especially when I learnt what a great cause it was for and as most will know personal to me also.
Please take a look at the charity and the great work they do for people who need their help.
So, from 6 - 13 October 2019 I will be cycling 50-70 miles per day. Neil tells me its a total of 427 miles of prime Irish Countryside from Mizen Head in the South to Malin Head in the North, but a search on the web shows more like 500+? Who knows, if I'm navigating it could be 600+?
Coincidentally, it will take me through Connemara and Sligo, where the Irish Brennan's and Tunney's originate from - I'm hoping for at least one pint of Guinness in a toast as I pass them by.
Given work commitments this year I've rarely been out on the bike so I need to get some miles in this next 6 weeks.
All monies raised will go to their disability ski trip to Austria in January 2020 and it would be great if you could sponsor a few pounds towards my target.
