Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cancer impacts us all, either directly or indirectly. I know and have known too many people with cancer. The sad fact is, this number is set to increase as I move through life.
One of these people is Paul Charles - pictured. A colleague and friend of mine. He is battling as we speak. Paul does not smoke and is not over weight. He has a young family too. He has many people rooting for him, but words can only do so much.
No one knows why cancer chose him. We still do not know what causes all forms of cancer. Obesity is said to be a significant contributor to cancer causing illness. 3 years ago I was around 130Kg. I am still no light weight, but I got rid of over 26Kg through exercise and eating more sensibly. I am no nun today and fall off the wagon from time to time - it's allowed.
While those around me are fighting cancer, I will fight the flab and help raise some dosh while I am at it. You can even have a laugh at my expense…
If I can raise £500 I will do the Duathlon in a Ballet tutu.
If I can raise, more than £1000 I will wear the tutu and also get my face made up like Lilly Savage, false eye lashes too!
If i can raise more than £2000, well i will get back to you on that in a few days!
Can you help by giving a little cash please to support Cancer Research UK?
You could also think twice before scoffing that mars bar on your way to work and take the stairs rather than the lift while you are at it – stop dodging those salads too :-)
