Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing a skydive to support Annabelle's Challenge. Annabelles Challenge are working tirelessly to hopefully one day, find a cure for Vascular Ehlers Danlos
Our friends son, Ted suffers from Vascular Ehlers Danlos. As a parent I cannot imagine what Teds parents have been through and are going through. Vascular Ehlers Danlos is a life limiting and threatening condition that takes too many lives, way too soon.
I, and the others jumping hope to be able to help Ted and his family by fund raising so that one day they can find a cure
Vascular Ehlers Danlos (VEDS) is a connective tissue disorder that affects all tissues, arteries and internal organs making them extremely fragile. Patients are at risk of sudden arterial or organ rupture. Vascular EDS is a rare type of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome caused by an alteration, also known as a mutation in the COL3A1 gene. Because many individuals with Vascular EDS (VEDS) are only identified after a severe complication or death, it is likely it did not come to medical attention and therefore goes undetected.
For Ted, living with this condition isn’t easy. He cannot do what he wants to do and his life is very restricted day to day. Ted has been advised not to do any physical activity that will cause a sudden raise in blood pressure, avoid where possible any knocks or falls and not to take part in contact sports. For an 11 year old boy, this is causing a huge amount of frustration, upset and anxiety. Ted lives in fear of having an arterial rupture, he lives in fear of dying young.
We are raising money for Annabelles Challenge for Vascular Ehlers Danlos. This is the first UK charity devoted to raise awareness and find a cure for this condition. They have already created a much needed support network for families living with this condition, are continually educating so many medics about this condition are hoping to fund much needed research soon.
Any donation you can give would be gratefully appreciated in helping this charity hopefully finding a cure for this life limiting and threatening condition.
Thank you!!
