Story
11/10/78 - 03/10/22
Until we meet again.
Heartbroken that my amazing wife Ros sadly lost her
fight against cancer on 3/10/22. It wasn't a fair
fight though otherwise she would have battered it! She
was such a bundle of energy and fun even whilst
suffering with her illness. She was selfless and kind
beyond compare and the hole she leaves behind is
impossible to fill.
For 23 years she has been at my side and I have no
idea how waking up without her each day will feel like. We were
fortunate to have our amazing daughter Maggie 6 years
ago and for her to lose the best mum in the world is just
cruel and tragic.
Her life will now be celebrated and although sad she is
gone, she is now no longer in pain.
Ros helped and inspired countless people in her job as Headteacher at Weston Primary School, Runcorn. She was proud to serve these wonderful pupils, dedicated and creative staff and be part of such an inclusive community. I know how important the school was to Ros and the mutual feeling has been exemplified by the touching messages of support over
the last few weeks. The school community have and will continue to be a part of our family. Just as Ros would want it. Thank you all at Weston!
To our close friends and family. Since diagnosis our journey has not been alone. Thank you all. I know this help and support will continue for Maggie and I too. I want to keep this page/account alive for Maggie to be able in the future if she wishes to see some glimpses of our lives and the happy times we had. I know Ros shared some of the hard times too but Maggie will see just what a determined and courageous woman her amazing Mum was.
Please please please feel free to share memories or messages as they will undoubtedly provide comfort or just remind us of how much fun she was!
Lastly, a word on the Marie Curie Hospice. People say
never meet your heroes as it's always a let down.
Nonsense. These guys are superheroes!
I'd always known hospital staff were 'heroes' not in the
lame Boris Johnson false clapping b*ll*cks but
genuinely hard working staff doing their best in near
impossible circumstances. They go far far beyond that.
They really are the best of humanity. Everyone of the
staff provided comfort, humor, reassurance and plenty
of cups of tea to myself, friends and family. The support offered to Ros and all our friends and family has been immense and will continue. Having seen the support offered to others in particular children we would love any gestures of support for Ros,Maggie and I to be directed here.
Crucially Ros felt at ease and they helped her passing be
dignified and loved. Thank you all at Marie Curie.
We love you Ros now, always and forever. X
