Story
Hi - Firstly, thanks very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page !
My name is John Anton and I’m in recovery from Stage 4 Bowel Cancer. On the 25th February 2018 I'm hoping to run the Brighton Half Marathon on behalf of Bowel Cancer UK.
This is my story: https://youtu.be/lKo7zHV20MI
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer just before Christmas 2010 (then Stage 4 in 2012) and following 3 years of treatment I’ve made it my goal to stay one step ahead of the disease whilst helping Bowel Cancer UK to raise awareness through their fantastic ‘Get Personal: Unlocking treatment options for advanced bowel cancer’ Campaign
Every year, around 10,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer and many more go on to progress to stage 4 after being diagnosed at an earlier stage. This is when the cancer has spread from the bowel to other parts of the body – usually the liver or lungs. Survival rates are poor, less than one in ten people diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer will survive.
So please give whatever you can to help Bowel Cancer UK make real change happen for people diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer.
