Story
As most of you now know on 14 April 2014 I ran the Virgin London Marathon in 3hr 31mins 45secs and it was amazing.
Following on from this my children, Jack and Tegan - together with myself and Tracey - are running the 1mile Superhero Race on Monday 5 May 2014. Jack and Tegan really wanted to do this - not only so they could hopefully get a medal but because they wanted to run as a family and themselves try and raise some money for Arc.
We know a huge amount of you have sponsored us so much already and we cannot thank you enough, but if you would like to sponsor Jack and Tegan in their aim to run 1mile (and Tracey's aim)! then please donate as little as £1 to help their fundraising
For those that haven't had chance as yet to sponsor me for the Marathon, it is not to late to sponsor - so do it now!
The money we raised will help Arc in the following ways:
- £10 pays for an information and support pack for a bereaved or expectant parent
- £20 pays for the website for a day - an essential aid for parents and health professionals
- £30 will provide 10 ARC Handbooks for a hospital, to be available to parents on hearing bad news
- £50 will train a volunteer to provide support to bereaved and anxious parents
- £200 pays for the upkeep of the helpline for one day - often the first point of contact for distressed parents
- £500 pays for the postage for a mail-out of the ARC Newsletter to 1500 bereaved parents
- £1000 will pay for a full day's training for midwives and doctors to help them provide better care for parents
