Story
I'm going to be running the TCS London Marathon 2022 for Dementia UK.
For those of you that know me, you’ll know running is definitely not my forte… but, this October I will be running 42.2km (wild, I know!) in aid of a wonderful charity that is close to my heart. At the end of 2019 my wonderful mum was diagnosed with a rare type of frontotemporal dementia called Primary Progressive Aphasia. The opportunity to raise money for a charity that does SO much for those in similar situations to my family’s makes the thought of running continuously for a very long time worth it.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Their nurses (Admiral Nurses) provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
Any donation would be so so appreciated… not just by me but by all the families receiving help from Dementia UK 🥰. As I drag myself around London on October 2nd, I’ll be thinking of all those who have supported me on this journey!!
