Story
"....doctors do not treat us and science does not study us. How could a disease this common and this devastating have been forgotten by medicine?" Jennifer Brea.
It is October, the mornings are getting darker and the temperatures getting colder and sometimes it is difficult to get out of bed…but I do, because I am very fortunate that I can!
A significant number of people with ME/CFS are bed-bound, house-bound or can only walk short distances … and that includes my partner, Amanda. One of the tragedies of ME/CFS is that it is effectively an invisible illness as so many are too ill to work, raise awareness of the illness themselves or raise money for research. That is why, during the month of October, I will be carrying on my morning walks and hope to complete 162km (100 miles) and in doing so raise both awareness of and vital funds for research into ME.
Today is the start of ‘Walk-tober’ – please consider sponsoring me. Thank you!
