Welcome to the Lincoln climbs to Everest Base Camp campaign! These incredible students are taking on the challenge of a lifetime all whilst helping in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia.

Story

Hi, I'm Joey: a University of Lincoln student by day and a travel YouTuber by night.

In August 2023 I'll be going head to head with Mount Everest and will be conquering the world-famous Everest base camp trail in aid of Meningitis Research Foundation. MRF are a small charity that makes a huge impact. Together with the World Health Organisation they plan to end global meningitis and septicaemia by 2030. I plan to help them with this ambitious plan with an equally audacious achievement of my own. Overall, the hike measures up as 130km up to a height of 5364m, but the impact of every donation will be immeasurable no matter the size.

I'll be posting many updates here along the fundraising journey, as well as during the challenge itself, and I'll be filming the climb so everyone at home can experience it too- just without the blisters!

Thank you very much for your generous donations!

Joey.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
