Story
We are a group of young people fundraising to help raise money for Tearfund's work in Yemen.
Over the next two weeks I will be running a total of 100km (around 7km every day) to raise awareness of this current crisis.
Yemen is home to the worlds worst humanitarian crisis in the last 100 years.
They are currently fighting:
an epidemic (cholera),
a pandemic (covid-19),
a famine
and a war all at the same time.
With 24.1 million people (80% of the country's population of 28 million) in urgent need of humanitarian aid and 50% on the brink of starvation, they need our help now more than ever.
20% of the country's 333 districts have no medical doctors at all. Three-quarters of Yemenis can't access safe water, food, healthcare or sanitation. The UNHCR say the country's health system "has in effect collapsed". Tearfund's partners in Yemen are working tirelessly in very difficult circumstances to reach those suffering the most. They are providing safe drinking water and food for vulnerable households, and improving access to healthcare and hygiene advice to reduce the spread of deadly disease.
Please support us as we raise money for this vital work.
In the unlikely event that Tearfund raise more than is needed to support their partners in Yemen, your gift will be spent where the need is greatest.
