Story
On 23 December 2019, at 20 months' old, our daughter Ada was rushed to A&E after contracting Sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection, and happens when the immune system overreacts and starts to attack the body's own tissues and organs. Thankfully, after emergency treatment and a Christmas spent in hospital, she recovered fully and is now the 4 year old tornado many of you know and love.
Not everyone is as lucky as us. According to the UK Sepsis Trust, 1 in 5 sufferers do not survive Sepsis and 1 in 4 are left with life-changing, permanent effects. The UK Sepsis Trust works tirelessly to raise awareness to help people spot the symptoms and seek immediate, life-saving treatment, as well as providing support to those living with the consequences of Sepsis.
In September, I will be running the Great North Run to raise vital funds for the UK Sepsis Trust. Given that my default state these days is old, tired and unfit, 13 miles will be a real challenge for me - and I will need a lot of training and blind hope to get round. But I am determined to do it. I know times are hard, and everyone is always asking for cash.......but it's 13 years since I asked for any........so please dig deep!! Anything you can spare will be super appreciated.
Race outfit still to be decided, but rest assured it will be something daft.
Thank you xx
