Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the London Bupa 10,000 on 27th May for Great Ormond Street Hospital, with all funds raised going specifically to the Hyperinsulinism (HI) Fund. The HI team is close to my heart as they saved the life of my baby cousin David, who is now a healthy 3 year old.

Please find below a message from David's parents Laura & Ari and please donate now!

"Our son David was born with a life critical illness that would have killed him in his first day of life. HI is a rare condition which causes the reverse effect from diabetes; the baby's blood sugar constantly falls to zero after a few minutes. We had no family history or any symptoms during pregnancy that could have warned us that David was ill.  He is now a well and happy child thanks to the intervention and expertise of the GOSH HI team. They have developed medicine and sophisticated surgery that can save these babies.  Over the last six years the HI fund has detected and saved babies, which even a few years ago would have died from 'unknown causes' after a few hours.  Please help support the growing research into HI and other 'new' diseases."

Thanks!
