Story

Joel was 15 weeks old when he was struck by meningitis, this left him with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebal palsy which affects two limbs which in Joel's case is his legs.

After going through many forms of treatment and surgery for the last 9 years, Joel has been told that he may lose the use of his right leg within the next 12 months so has decided to do something to raise money to help other children like him before it is too late. This is where the idea of a sponsored walk has come from.

Reece has been Joel's best friend since they met at school 2 years ago. Since then, it has been Reece who has supported Joel in his everday life - reminding him to do his physiotherapy exercises, being the first to see him when he has come home from surgery and sitting inside with him when Joel is unable to play out. It seems only natural for Reece to be doing this with Joel.

The boys will be walking 12.5 miles around Abrahams Valley on Cannock Chase on the 31st August 2013, this is a huge challenge for both Reece and Joel and will take around 6 hours for them to complete, not forgetting both of them are only 10 years old!

Please, please support our young, inspirational lads to raise their target of £1000 for Cerebal Palsy Mid Staffs.
