Story
In 2019 our amazing daughter Lyla was born with an extremely rare genetic condition. It quickly became clear that Lyla’s condition was one that very few doctors could say they’d heard of, let alone begin to answer our concerns or propose treatment for. Thankfully at 9 days old she was referred to GOSH and just a day later had already been seen by doctors with expert knowledge of her condition.
3 years on, we cannot put into words what an incredible place GOSH is and we simply don’t know where we’d be without this amazing institution’s support for both Lyla and us as parents. We and thousands of other families from around the world are so fortunate to be able to call upon their help.
We are so thankful that Lyla has been under the watchful eye of some of the best paediatric doctors we could ask for, they have helped her to overcome her biggest challenges and most incredibly they have worked to save her sight, something for which we will be forever indebted! Thanks to their help she is now flourishing and amazes us all the time :)
I’ll be taking on this challenge with my dad (who has driven us to every appointment Lyla has ever had) to raise what we can to help GOSH continue to care for the children that need them.
By donating, you'll help to fund ground breaking research, advanced equipment, support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Every pound really does count and could help over 600 seriously ill children who arrive at GOSH every day.
Thank you x
