Story
At the grand age of 41 years old this is My Last Dance. Maybe not as amazing as Michael Jordan’s but this will be my last marathon and what a place to finish. Having watched my wife do it a few years ago the atmosphere was electric and I knew I needed to do it at least once.
The training has been hard and I run early mornings and late nights, I have walked like John Wayne on Mondays as the chafing has been horrendous. I am aiming to do it in 3 hours 30 minutes which is tough for some one who weighed 16st on the 31st December. Wish me luck!!!!
To get me motivated I am running the marathon in aid of an amazing charity, the NSPCC. As a proud father of two girls, I can not think of a better charity to run for. The Charity’s mission is to protect children at risk, prevent abuse and trauma from happening and transform society so it’s a safer place for children everywhere.
I know I will go to some difficult painful places in my training and on the day, but if my run makes life better for just one child then it will all be worth it.
