Story
Hello lovely people,
On 23rd April 2017, I'll be running the London Marathon in memory of my wonderful mum, Jan.
You'd be forgiven for getting a sense of deja vu while reading this; after picking up last-minute injuries in both 2015 and 2016, this will be my third attempt at the race. That means I'll have trained for three years (and ran the equivalent 1500 mile distance between London and Moldova) to run around London for a few hours, and I'm not a fan of running. Fingers crossed.
For those who don't know, my mum left us pretty suddenly in 2009, following a brief battle with lung cancer. It was a tough time, but the outstanding levels of physical, emotional and spiritual care that the North London Hospice provided made her final days a little bit better. The Woodside Park hospice became a second home to us (including the dog, Molly, naturally), and the kind-hearted staff and selfless volunteers left a lasting impression on my family and I.
So, this is to say a big thank you to the NLH. Last year the hospice provided free-of-charge support to over 1,250 others suffering with a life-limiting illness. Over 3/4 of the funding that enabled this was generously donated through pages like this one. So (shamelessly) I would like to ask you to please donate and become one of the generous people that allows the hospice to keep on doing what it's doing. Your donations will enable them to keep on delivering extraordinary levels of care to those who need it.
THANK YOU so much in advance for your support. I'm incredibly grateful for anything you'd willing to donate!
Lots of love,
Joel
