We support treatment, research and care to make our hospitals even better

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our daughter Myla was born prematurely at 24 weeks and she's had many complications including hydrocephalus (her brain fluid doesn't drain down her spinal cord which if untreated can be life threatening). As a result she had to have a shunt inserted into her head when she was 11 weeks old to drain the fluid for her. She will have this for life.

She's experienced shunt malfunction a couple of times and numerous infections which has meant we've spent a fair bit of time on ward 78 of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital including stays of up to 5 weeks at a time. The ward is fantastic and not only do they look after Myla they do their best to look after me and Nic (mylas mum) too. The doctors and ward staff are amazing especially the nurses who do an amazing job. This is our way of giving something back so if you would be generous enough to donate we would appreciate it so much. We've seen first hand how donations make a huge difference to this ward and so even if it's just £1 it'll be massively appreciated by Myla and all of her friends on ward 78.

Thank you x
