Story
So I made it to the top in 10mins 30secs and in one piece! It was satisfying and the view from the top was awesome!
Thanks all for your support. You can still donate even after the event! Every little helps an invidual or a family find a proper home.
Cheers,
Joe
Hi All,
I'm sure most of you suspected that I was slightly crazy.... this will pretty much confirm it.
On my 30th Birthday this year I have decided to run up (probably mainly walking and/or crawling) Tower 42. It's a 42 story building in the centre of London.
I have been doing some training for it by running up the hill from Chalk Farm to Hampstead and also running up the stairs in Hampstead Underground Station (there are just over 300 stairs equating to 15 stories). So far i've been able to do it twice in a row so I'll definitely make it to floor 30.
In any case, I have wanted to do something for Shelter for a while. As a nation we give a lot of foreign aid, which is fantastic, but as the old saying goes "Charity Begins at Home". It would be fantastic to tackle the plight of those poverty-stricken or mentally ill people on our own doorsteps at the same time.
The minimum pledge that Shelter ask for to participate in Vertical Rush is 180 pounds but I thought I could do better than that.
Please help me reach 500 for a very worthy cause.
Thanks in advance!
